Dear Auto Components Working Group Members,
The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to attend the Auto Components Working Group Meeting: “MADE” on Automobility – Automotive Disruption Radar Issue: Tracking disruption signals in the automotive industry at 09:00-10:30, 24th November 2017 at the European Chamber office in Shanghai.
Over the past 130 years, the automotive industry has followed a very "linear" development path. However, recently four parallel four megatrends have emerged; Mobility, Automated driving, Digital experience, Electrification – MADE for short. With the maturing of MADE, the industry is likely to be disrupted over the next ten to fifteen years.
To support our clients, Roland Berger continuously monitors this disruption. We look at 27 selected indicators in five dimensions (customer interest, regulation, technology, infrastructure, industry activities), and analyze these across eleven countries. Regularly the findings are compiled and published as the "Automotive Disruption Radar" report. The Fall 2017 issue was recently released.
Among these observed markets, China has ranked the third in the Spring 2017 Issue and moved up to the second place in Fall 2017 Issue. China's strong push for EVs, city traffic optimization, and its tech-savvy customers have provided a great basis for autonomous mobility. China is now the most progressive of the major automotive markets.
Mr. Johan Karlberg - automotive partner at Roland Berger - will share with you the main observations in the Radar report, with a focus on the disruption status and the future landscape of the Chinese auto-mobility industry.
