With China’s 19th Party Congress now ended, General Secretary Xi Jinping has reaffirmed China’s commitment to trade and investment liberalisation, vowing to “stick to its basic state policy of opening up”. As China’s largest trading partner, the European Union (EU) increasingly wishes to play a larger role in China’s economic development. China’s exports to the EU have grown at an annual rate of 1.8 per cent, while the EU’s exports to China have grown by 5.8 per cent. Within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Chinese-EU cooperation can play a positive role in fostering economic growth and development and go beyond a simple buyer-seller relationship.
On the 3rd November, the European Chamber of Commerce in China will be delighted in supporting this event featuring several distinguished speakers. This forum will outline how best the EU and China can expand their existing economic relationship and cooperate on a variety of different joint-projects.
Vital information on how European businesses can succeed in China’s domestic business environment will be provided, along with insights on the European marketplace for Chinese business that wishes to go global. What does the future look like for China’s BRI? Will China and the EU be able to successfully foster long-term cooperation? How can new advanced projects successfully come to fruition with China and the EU working together?
