Industry 4.0 or the fourth industrial revolution is a collective term embracing contemporary automation solutions as well as data exchange in and between companies. Therefore, Industry 4.0 facilitates the vision and execution of a "Smart Factory".
A significant feature of Industry 4.0 is a high connectivity and transparency between all participants and resources in a supply chain, profiting from a highly capable information and communication technology. This way, processes can be customized towards individual requirements of the respective customer as well as major savings potentials be uncovered.
Combining Industry 4.0 approaches and modern Supply Chain Management approaches will lead to unique advantages regarding an optimized productivity. On January 23rd, 2018, GAMI will organize a round table activity under the topic of “Digitized Supply Chain Management”, in which we will discuss:
