Manufacturing is undergoing a fundamental revolution worldwide. The Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and advanced Robotics, big data and cloud computing are radically changing the conditions of industrial activity, creating a unique opportunity for new significant productivity gains and competitive advantages for first mover countries and companies. At the same time, major new developments in the global economy as well new issues and challenges on the international trade scene coupled with environmental pressures and the emergences of new risks are putting pressure on corporations to review the location of their activities and reshape and streamline their supply chains.
The European Chamber is pleased to be a supporting organization for the World Manufacturing Convention 2018 (WMC) which will take place on May 24-26 2018 at the Hefei Binhu International Exhibition & Convention Center in Anhui Province. This will be an excellent opportunity for members to find new business opportunities and learn about the latest developments and trends in manufacturing. The convention will bring together around 2,000 participants from international and Chinese manufacturing corporations. This will include both large corporate but also many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The conference organizers expect more than 200 Fortune 500 companies and other advanced foreign manufacturers to attend. There will be matchmaking support for all attendees. Senior officials from the central government, Anhui provincial government and experts from major Chinese and international academic centers of excellence will also attend.
The convention will have forum that will explore the future of manufacturing. There will be sessions on smart manufacturing, robotics, artificial intelligence, big data, digitization of the supply chain and much more.
