The European Chamber is glad to invite you to a Joint IPR, SCA and ICT Working Group Meeting on Guidance on Standard Essential Patent (SEP) Disputes, which will take place on Thursday 5 July from 14h to 15h30, at our Beijing and Shanghai offices, via video conference.
On 26 April 2018, the High People’s Court of Guangdong Province, China’s high-tech heartland, issued the Working Guidelines on the Trial of Standard Essential Patent Disputes (For Trial Implementation) 《关于审理标准必要专利纠纷案件的工作指引(试行)》. While these Guidelines are currently legally binding locally, they endorse recognised court practices on SEP-related issues. Thus, they may also shed light on the factors that courts in other parts of China may consider in such cases.
At this meeting, we will have the pleasure of welcoming (Ms) Katie Feng, Partner at Hogan Lovells based in Shanghai to give an overview of these guidelines. Katie will also share some key takeaways of recent SEP cases and relevant international practices. The presentation will be followed by a roundtable discussion and Q&A.
