Background information:
On 10 July, the Shanghai Municipal Government issued a new document to further open up Shanghai’s economy - Shanghai’s Action Plan of Implementing China’s Major Further Opening-up Measures to Accelerate the Establishment of a New Open Economy System. The action plan lists 100 measures that are structured around five general objectives: (1) boosting Shanghai's position as an international financial center; (2) building a more open and modern services sector and an advanced manufacturing industry; (3) establishing high-standards IPR protection, (4) creating a new platform for import promotion with more influence in the international market; and (5) providing a first class legal, international and convenient business climate. For more information, please find the attached documents in English and Chinese.
In order to better understand the local government’s plans to implement the 100 measures, and provide the government with recommendations from industry, the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter is partnering with SCOFCOM to organize a dialogue on the local business environment. The SCOFCOM also confirms to bring other relevant government departments to answer questions from the industry based on the questions they receive from the participants in advance.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for this dialogue, if you wish to receive more information please contact Ms Kelly Zhao at kzhao@europeanchamber.com.cn
