Dear Working Group member,
According to the World Bank’s latest ratings, China ranks 78 out of 190 countries when it comes to ease doing business. In an effort to improve this situation, in the recent past the Chinese government has been rolling out measures both at a national and at a local level. Depending on the city or region, these measures span from simplifying the registration procedures for enterprises to more concrete measures on taxes and electricity or gas fees. What impact will these measures – especially the ones rolled out in Beijing last March – have on the ease of doing business in China of European companies?
The EU SME Centre and the European Chamber are delighted to invite you to join a meeting where Mr Tony Shao, partner at Horizon LLP and Mr Huo Mingdi, Director of Foreign Investment Management Division at the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce will discuss these measures in detail, both at the national level and also focusing on Beijing. The meeting will take place at the European Chamber’s Beijing offices on the 18th September from 15:00 to 17:00. The meeting will be in English and Chinese, and simultaneous translation will be offered by Akkadu.
