Human Resources Working Group Meeting

European Chamber, Shanghai
Tel: 021 - 6385 -2381 Ext 110
Dear HR Working Group Members,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next HR Working Group Meeting, which will be held on Thursday, 17th April from 5pm to 7.30pm at the European Chamber Office in Shanghai. The Working Group meeting will take place from 5 to 6pm; from 6 to 7.30pm there will be a short presentation on the EU-China Managers Exchange & Training Programme (METP), followed by questions and drinks/networking. METP are looking for talented individuals to join this exciting programme and are actively seeking your input and support.
Agenda:
1. Proposed change of name from Working Group to Forum
2. Human Resources Working Group Annual Report
3. 2008/2009 Position Paper input
4. Forward agenda for 2008
5. Working Group Elections.
6. Short Presentation by METP (commencing at 6pm, followed by questions and networking).
At this meeting we will also hold the 2008 Human Resource Working Group Elections: As you may know, the HR Working Group Chair and Vice Chair play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, which includes: communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering Working Group meetings.
I would like to thank both Roberto Siu, the Working Group Chair, and also the two Vice Chairs, Stanislas Rolland and Hans Stremme, for their commitment to make this group a vibrant platform for lobbying and information exchange. Regrettably, Roberto is leaving his current job in Shanghai, to work for a non-EU company, and is therefore unable to stand for re-election. The Working Group is therefore currently actively searching for a suitable candidate for this important and influential position.
I am pleased to announce that Hans Stremme and Stanislas Rolland, the current Vice Chairs, have graciously expressed their willingness to continue in that role. However, along with the Chamber Secretariat, they encourage any other member who may be interested to also put forth his/her candidature for the positions. Any member who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is therefore kindly requested to inform the Chamber by contacting me on tbrooks@euccc.com.cn.
To register for this meeting, please RSVP to Piers Barber, pbarber@euccc.com.cn by Tuesday, 15th April 2008 COB.
Finally, the EUCCC is organizing a half-day conference on M & A, at the Radisson Hotel in Shanghai, on 17th April. If you, or a representative from your company, is interested in speaking at this conference on “HR issues relating to M & A”, please contact tbrooks@euccc.com.cn as soon as possible.
