Date: Friday 09.30 - 11.00, 18th January 2019

Dear Auto Components Working Group Members,
The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to join the next Auto Components Working Group Meeting: The Next “Driver” of China NEV at 9.30-11.00, on the 18th of January, 2019, at the European Chamber Shanghai Office.
The new energy vehicle (NEV) is one of the strategic focus in China with heavy subsidy for the past years, making China the global lead in terms of market size. During this period, multiple start-ups came to the ground targeting two major NEV consumer segments in China: value/license chasers and tech fans. However, we estimate the dynamics of China NEV market will be changed soon due to subsidy retreatment, technology development and premium brands entering the market; its currently polarized consumer composition will become more diversified, especially with the joining of the existing premium internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle buyers.
In order to catch up the next-round opportunities of China NEV market, we think all players should pay attention to the consumer trend:
• Understand the difference between existing and future NEV consumer in China.
• Gain deep insights of the demographics of future NEV consumers (e.g. background, consumption concept, life attitude, etc.) and their requirements to the next-gen NEV
• Find out the new touch points and appropriate marketing mix to approach the future consumers
• Build up new external marketing partnerships and internal organizations to achieve better leads conversion performance
