Dear Working Group Members,
The Logistics Working Group (WG) is delighted to invite you to the first WG meeting of the new year, a meeting which will take place on Tuesday, 26th February 2019, from 14:00 to 15:00.
During this kick-off meeting, we will review the activity of the WG in 2018, and members are strongly encouraged to join the discussion and provide input on the WG’s 2019 advocacy and activity priorities, and Position Paper outline.
In the new year, we will continue to engage with government stakeholders and monitor policy changes and general trade facilitation issues, as well as seek opportunities to learn about other developments affecting the logistics sector.
With this occasion, the 2019 Logistics Working Group Chair election will be held. Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the WG, having a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and coordinating WG meetings and other activities.
Should you be interested in putting your name forward for the Chair election or nominating a candidate, please send a short biography and a motivation letter, stating whether you intend to run for Chair or Vice Chair, and your plans to promote the working group to Ms. Pingrui Zhao at przhao@europeanchamber.com.cn by Tuesday, 19th February, 2019, COB.
Chairs Election Policy:
In accordance with European Chamber internal guidelines, a separate email will be sent to Working Group members prior to the election, with the biographies and motivation letters of all candidates attached. Regarding the elections voting procedure, there will be one vote per company, which must be conducted in person at the WG meeting after each candidate has had the opportunity to give a short speech on why they would like to run for election. The duration of the term for both Chairs and Vice Chairs is one year. All elected Chairpersons must sign the attached Code of Conduct, following election. To familiarize yourself with the Code of Conduct and responsibilities as Chairs, please refer to the attached Starter Kit.
We encourage as many of our members as possible to attend the meeting to have their say in the leadership and representation of the Logistics Working Group in the year ahead.
You are welcome to attend the meeting taking place in Shenzhen by registering online or contact Ms. Pingrui Zhao at przhao@europeanchamber.com.cn
