Banking & Securities Working Group Meeting
Tuesday, 22nd April 2008, 14:00
Venue:
European Chamber Office
Unit 2204, Shui On Plaza, No. 333 Huai Hai Zhong Lu,
Dear Banking & Securities Working Group Members,
We are delighted to announce that the next Banking Working Group meeting will take place on Tuesday, 22nd April 2008 at 14:00. Please register your attendance by emailing Ms. Derval Usher at dusher@euccc.com.cn by Friday, 18th April 2008.
At the next meeting, we will discuss the following:
1. Position Paper Recommendations
We have now started our discussions on the Position Paper for 2008. As the Position Paper forms the basis of all our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to consult widely within their own company in advance so that they can then table such recommendations for discussion at our next meeting. Alternatively, please forward your recommendations to me in advance of the meeting.
2. Tax for Banks
Some of our bank members have informed us that their grandfathering tax period has been brought to a close prematurely because of the new EIT which was implemented on 1st January 2008. At our Banking WG meeting next week, we have invited a tax advisor to come and talk us through the new tax law and its requirements for banks. Also attached are some tax documents kindly prepared by Deloitte in relation to implementation and Circular 39 which is particularly relevant for the banking sector.
