The European Union and Vietnam signed a Trade Agreement and an Investment Protection Agreement on 30th June 2019, paving the way for tariff reductions on 99% of goods between the 28-member block and Vietnam. The European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), will help increase the competitiveness of Vietnam and will boost the country's exports to the European market.
Vietnam has overtime successfully established itself as a leading destination for foreign direct investment, thanks to its increasing integration with world markets. Its FTA network is currently connecting Vietnam to 68% of the world GDP population. The biggest seaport and industrial hub of North Vietnam – Haiphong city has invested massively in state-of-the-art multimodal infrastructures. The first direct call to US was recently launched in April 2019, minimizing transportation time and risk. Especially with the proximity to the Chinese market as well as the economic zone tax package which can bring tremendous business opportunities for investors determined to find a location which can complement their operations in China.
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is pleased to invite you to a seminar where the European Chamber of Commerce Vietnam, JLL Vietnam, DEEP C Industrial Zones and D'Andrea & Partners Vietnam will give you an overview of how companies can benefit from the EVFTA and how complementing Chinese operations with production in Vietnam can benefit your business.
Please note that attendees will need to bring the ID together on the event date to register with the security and have access to JLL office. Attendees who do not bring their ID/passport will be rejected access to the event.
