Dear Working Group Members,
The Investment Working Group cordially invites you to attend a presentation on the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan (FYP), which is scheduled to take place in Beijing and in Shanghai on Thursday, 12th December, from 9:30am to 11:30am.
Issued since 1953, when China adopted a state-run economic model from the Soviet Union, the Five-Year Plans have served both as a blueprint for the nation’s socio-economic development and as a tool for the central government to divulge its main policy goals to drive economic growth over the ensuing five years. Looking ahead to the upcoming Fourteenth Five-Year Plan, this meeting delves into its policy-making process, offering projections on the Plan’s strategic focus and priorities. Although the government has yet to release detailed proposals of the country’s development policies for the next five years, preliminary research is being conducted by various ministries, which is likely to feed into high-level decisions over the goals set forth in the next Plan. Sharing a sneak peek at the 14th FYP by The Economist and Trivium, this meeting is of particular relevance to companies seeking to forecast the economic policies lying in store.
