Background:
To ensure stable employment relationships and to help companies overcome difficulties during the COVID-19 epidemic, both the PRC state and local governments have issued a series of unprecedented policies and public notices over the past few weeks. Based on the latest developments and policies in place, the first half of this webinar discusses how companies are to manage HR during the outbreak.
The COVID-19 epidemic is also projected to have a considerable impact on business, both in China and internationally. Because of global supply chains, companies in the Mainland as well as overseas may no longer be able to perform their contractual obligations on time. The second half of this webinar therefore considers whether failure to duly perform contractual obligations in the current situation leads to a breach of contract and related liabilities or whether such liabilities can be exempted under the notion of Force Majeure.
Key Points Discussed:
- HR Perspective - Employees: Protective Measures, Salary Treatment and Work Arrangement
- HR Perspective - Employer: Obligations and Actions
- Commercial Perspective - Impact on Contracts: Does COVID-19 Constitute Force Majeure?
