Every year on May 9th, we celebrate "Europe Day". Do you know the origin of this Day? This is to commemorate the Schuman Plan proposed by Robert Schuman, then the French Foreign Minister. In 1950, in order to end the dispute between France and Germany, Robert Schuman proposed a new form of political cooperation between the two countries, this cooperation will also contain the endless war among other countries on the European continent. The plan lays its foundation on the economic sharing of coal and steel, but the most important is the desire for solidarity and peace, which have also become the starting point of the construction of the European Union!

每年的5月9日，我们都会庆祝“欧洲日”。你知道这个日期的由来吗？这是为了纪念时任法国外交部长的罗伯特·舒曼先生（Robert Schuman）提出的“舒曼”计划。1950年，为了结束法德之间的纷争，罗伯特·舒曼提出了两国之间的一种新的政治合作形式，这种合作也将遏制欧洲大陆其他国家之间的无休止的战争。该计划基于煤炭和钢铁的经济共享，但最重要的是对团结与和平的渴望，这也成为欧盟建设的起点！

The European Uion has grown from 6 member states (Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands) when it was first founded in 1957 to 27 member states today. It brings together 510 million residents and promotes the exchange of humanities, science and commerce through the opening of borders. In short, the more frequent the exchanges between member states, the longer the peace in the European region. 

欧盟由1957年最初创立时的6个成员国（德国，比利时，法国，意大利，卢森堡，荷兰）发展壮大成如今的27个成员国。它汇聚起5.1亿居民，并通过开放边界，促进了人文、科学和商业的交流。简而言之，成员国之间的交流越密切，欧洲地区的和平就越持久。

On May 9th, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Shenyang, the French Consulate General in Shenyang, the German Consulate General in Shenyang, the Alliance française in Dalian and the Goethe-Institut in Northeastern University will jointly celebrate "Europe Day" in Northeast China!

In order to give you a better understanding of the European Union, we will hold an online quiz on the knowledge about "Europe Day" from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 9th, 2020.

The Alliance française in Dalian and the Goethe-Institute in Northeastern University will jointly hold an online French and German enlightenment course.
