The European Chamber ICT WG and Cyber-security Sub-working is delighted to jointly host a meeting with the Sino-German Company Working Group Industrie 4.0 and Intelligent Manufacturing (AGU) to discuss the business impacts and technical challenges brought by the newly drafted Data Security Law.
Kindly note that this meeting will be held both online through zoom and offline at the Beijing and Shanghai offices of the European Chamber.
The increasing need of management of data and ensuring its security has pushed China to draft its first data security law, an upper law that will be regulating and overseeing the remaining regulations and measures that have been released or to be released related to data protection and security.
Its importance needs not to be emphasised, for its enforcement will affect the later rolling of important data regulations and cross-border data handling. The European Chamber is delighted to join its efforts with the AGU Expert Group on Industrial Internet in this meeting to provide a business perspective of the potential implications of this draft law to foreign businesses working and operating in China.
Agenda:
- 10:00-10:10 Opening Remarks by both ICT WG and AGU Expert Group representatives
- 10:10-10:40 Presentation by Dr. Sven-Michael Werner, partner at Bird & Bird law firm
- 10:40-11:10 Panel Discussion with Dr. Sven-Michael Werner (Bird & Bird), Ms. Han Ying (JP Morgan) and Mr. Jianjun Hu (Siemens)
