2020 is the start of a new era for sustainability - a turning point – where it takes the world stage as we continue to learn just how important its role is in preserving our quality of life and all lives in the planet we share. This became even more apparent following the European Chamber's 2020 Sustainable Business Awards, where a record number of companies shared their forward-thinking sustainable projects. In this way, we are pleased to bring to you the 2020/2021 edition of the Sustainable Business Talks, a series of events brining corporate leaders together to dive deep into sustainable solution synergies.
In this Sustainable Business Talk, Covestro will expand on their social innovation cooperation model, more specifically their closed-loop recycling system. Focusing on building various recycling solutions for post-consumer polycarbonate to promote a circular economy. Covestro initiated a tripartite cooperation agreement with Chinese bottled water and beverage company Nongfu Spring and plastics recycling company Ausell in January 2020 to upcycle and reuse polycarbonate water barrels, for use in industries such as electronics, home appliances and automotive.
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Chinawelcomes Mr Roy Cheung, Global head of Sustainability Solutions, Polycarbonates Business Unit, Covestro. Covestro China was the winner of the Social Innovation Pioneer Award Category at the European Chamber's 2020 Sustainable Business Awards held by the Shanghai Chapter. In the panel session, we also invite key stakeholders in their social innovation projects, together they will share their expertise, challenges, implementation and outlook of sustainable solutions in China. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received in writing at least one full day in advance of the date of the webinar.

Should you fail to cancel your participation on time, the European Chamber reserves the right to transfer future event/webinar registrations to other interested participants. In the case of fee-based events, the event fee will be charged to those who fail to cancel their registration on time.
Advisory Council Policy
Members of the Advisory Council may receive complimentary admission to Chamber seminars, conferences and factory visits up to two attendees per event. Additional participants will be charged at the member rate.
Advisory Council members will still be charged the standard member rate for participation in training courses and special events, such as gala balls, government appreciation dinners, or admission to corporate social events/tournaments.

Ms. Cindy Zhang
Cindy is the Chair of CSR Forum from 2020 at European Chamber Shanghai where she has served as Vice Chair and Chairwoman since 2014. Currently, she is the Marketing and Communication Director of Mestä APAC, responsible for marketing and communication strategy and planning, including sustainability communications for Mestä Group in APAC region. Cindy acted as Vice Chair of Finnish Chamber of Shanghai during 2019-2022,
Mr. Roy Cheung
Mr. Roy Cheung
Roy Cheung is currently the global head of Sustainability Solutions in the Polycarbonates business unit at Covestro, a material science company and one of the largest manufacturers of polycarbonate, a type of polymer with wide applications in various industries including mobility, electronics, healthcare, constructions etc. In his role, Roy focuses on driving internally towards the new company-wise “fully circular” vision, externally collaborating and providing material solutions for different industries to fulfill their circularity or sustainability goals. These collaborations and solutions include close loop recycling, upcycling of post-consumer waste, circular design, renewable raw materials etc. He’s also involved in various innovation projects looking into solving the sustainability challenges using innovative technologies. Roy was born in Hong Kong, spent several years in Taipei, and currently based in Shanghai.

Mr. Jilai Peng
Mr Peng Jilai is the General Manager and Partner of SynTao Consulting Beijing Office, Director of China CSR Map (CCM), a certified trainer for Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and lecturer of SynTao Academy.
Mr Peng has over 15 years of CSR/ESG consultancy experience and has served many clients in the automobile, FMCG, healthcare, financing, ICT and IDC industries. He is professional in developing sustainability strategy and ESG management systems, CSR internal & external communication, CSR training, CSR/ESG reporting, CSR program planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Besides business consultancy, Mr Peng is heavily involved with corporate-NGO cooperation and has successfully developed a dozen of cross-sector partnership. He is also proficient with charity project implementation and evaluation and he particularly focus on child development, gender, rural revitalization, environment & climate change, health & nutrition issue. Mr Peng provides advisory service for a dozen of large foundations and NGOs.
Before joining SynTao, Mr Peng worked for four years as Project Coordinator with GIZ on Sino-German CSR Project. Mr Peng earned his bachelor degree in English Language and Literature from Capital Normal University.
