A well-executed marketing campaign allows SMEs to promote their products and increase trust in their brand resulting in the expansion of their customer base. A lot of money, time and effort goes into designing, managing and executing various marketing activities, with the hope of reaping hefty returns on these investments. IP protection is crucial to a successful marketing campaign, since neglecting IP can result in the ultimate failure of SMEs’ marketing activities. For example, an unprotected trade mark can lead to copycats exploiting SMEs’ marketing efforts by copying or stealing their trade mark. Additionally, it can be detrimental to a marketing campaign if someone uses identical or similar marketing materials for similar products. Thus, SMEs should pay attention to IP protection when marketing their products in China.
European Union Chamber of Commerce Nanjing Chapter, Shenyang Chapter and China IP SME Helpdesk jointly organize the webinar on “How to protect IP during marketing” to provide SMEs with the tools for designing an appropriate IP strategy to support their marketing campaigns.
During this webinar, China IP SME Helpdesk IP Business Advisor Mr. Matias Zubimendi will explain how to build a comprehensive IP strategy for marketing your products. Mr. Zubimendi will focus on the following aspects:
· Marketing and brand protection
· Protecting the appearance of the product
· Protection of marketing materials
· Marketing and IP protection on e-commerce platforms
· Marketing and IP protection at trade fairs
There will be a Q&A session at the end of the webinar allowing SMEs to pose questions to the speaker.
