The European Chamber’s Construction Working Group is delighted to invite you to its next working group meeting “Updates on CAI Market Openings, PP Discussion and Chair Elections” which is to take place on Tuesday 16^th March, 16.00-17.45 pm.

At this meeting, Ester Canada Amela, European Affairs Manager, European Chamber will present an overview of the recently concluded-in-principle EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI) and its current status. She will also dwell on market openings specifically for the construction sector and what members can make of it.

In this meeting, we will also discuss the Construction Working Group Position Paper 2021/22 and hold 2021-2022 WG Chair Elections. The Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the WG Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings.

We encourage as many of our members as possible to attend to have their say in the leadership and representation of the Working Group in the year ahead. With a background in languages and international relations, Ester is a reliable and adaptable professional with both working and academic experience in multiple countries. As part of the Government Affairs team, she currently is the Chamber's main liaison with the European Union and Member states' Governments. She also manages the advocacy activities of the EU SME Centre through liaising with business and government stakeholders, managing the Inter-Chamber SME Working Group, and producing reports on SME policies in China.
Ester has a BA on Social and Institutional Translation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and a Double Master’s Degree on European Affairs and International Politics from Sciences Po Paris and Fudan University.
