More and more companies are working on sustainable development with visions of environmental protection, energy saving, poverty alleviation and creation of a more inclusive society. For corporates, the initiatives to develop sustainable business may also encourage innovation, optimized products, improve corporate image and even open new markets. We are pleased to bring to you the 2020/2021 edition of the Sustainable Business Talks, a series of events brining corporate leaders together to dive deep into sustainable solution synergies.
In this Sustainable Business Talk, Danone China winner of the Advocate in Combating Poverty Award at the European Chamber's 2020 Sustainable Business Awards will share their experience in supporting poverty alleviation in rural China. Danone is known as a company aiming for both economic success and social progress. In China, Danone is committed to bringing health through food to as many people as possible, which is aligned with the national agenda of Healthy China 2030. Supporting China’s development, especially helping its people in underdeveloped areas is always one of our key strategies and work priorities in China.
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China welcomes James Ng, Greater China VP and General Secretary, Danone to present key aspects of Danone’s poverty alleviation efforts. In the panel Kei Chai Yong, GM of Social Business Department, Danone, and Cathy Chen, Head of Internal Communication and Sustainability, Danone will be joined by Jilai Peng, Partner, SynTao for furtherdiscussion of advancement of sustainable solutions. Roy Zhang, Chairman of the European Chamber CSR Forum Shanghai will be our moderator for this session.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received in writing at least one full day in advance of the date of the webinar.
To cancel you can: 1) email yangzhao@europeanchamber.com.cn, or 2) cancel online if you registered for the event through the website. Should you fail to cancel your participation on time, the European Chamber reserves the right to transfer future event/webinar registrations to other interested participants. In the case of fee-based events, the event fee will be charged to those who fail to cancel their registration on time.
Advisory Council Policy
Members of the Advisory Council may receive complimentary admission to Chamber seminars, conferences and factory visits up to two attendees per event. Additional participants will be charged at the member rate.
Advisory Council members will still be charged the standard member rate for participation in training courses and special events, such as gala balls, government appreciation dinners, or admission to corporate social events/tournaments.

Mr. James Ng
James is responsible for sustainability, public affairs and corporate reputation, communication, legal, compliance and scientific regulatory affairs. James is responsible for Danone’s One Planet One Health related programs in China, which include various social, health and sustainability initiatives. A Malaysian national, James worked and lived in China for 25 years, previous experience with Danone in China include board member of joint ventures, general management and sales director. James holds an MBA degree from Booth School of Business, University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the National University of Malaysia

Kei Chai Yong, GM of Social Business Dept. of Danone ELN China, joined Danone Group in 2008. He has working experience in many countries and regions, managing various business channels. He joined Danone ELN China Social Business Dept. as GM in 2018, leading its growth expansion ever since.

Ms. Cathy Chen
Cathy Chen is the Head of Internal Communication & Sustainability in Danone Greater China. She mainly oversees sustainability strategy development & implementation, volunteerism cultural building, employee communication & engagement design and implementation.
Mr. Jilai Peng
Mr. Jilai Peng
Mr Peng Jilai is the General Manager and Partner of SynTao Consulting Beijing Office, Director of China CSR Map (CCM), a certified trainer for Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and lecturer of SynTao Academy.
Mr Peng has over 15 years of CSR/ESG consultancy experience and has served many clients in the automobile, FMCG, healthcare, financing, ICT and IDC industries. He is professional in developing sustainability strategy and ESG management systems, CSR internal & external communication, CSR training, CSR/ESG reporting, CSR program planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Besides business consultancy, Mr Peng is heavily involved with corporate-NGO cooperation and has successfully developed a dozen of cross-sector partnership. He is also proficient with charity project implementation and evaluation and he particularly focus on child development, gender, rural revitalization, environment & climate change, health & nutrition issue. Mr Peng provides advisory service for a dozen of large foundations and NGOs.
Before joining SynTao, Mr Peng worked for four years as Project Coordinator with GIZ on Sino-German CSR Project. Mr Peng earned his bachelor degree in English Language and Literature from Capital Normal University.

Mr. Hui Zhang
Mr. Zhang Hui served as the CSR and sustainability leader in multiple Fortune 500 companies, leading the development and evolution of CSR strategies and driving signature campaigns across regional and international markets. Since 2014, Mr. Zhang has taken the CSR Forum Chair and Vice Chair role of European Union Chamber of Commerce Shanghai Chapter, fostering the cross-sector CSR and sustainability collaboration on the European Chamber CSR Forum platform. He also contributed his knowledge and experience by serving as the CSR Think Tank expert of China Federation of Industrial Economics, lecturer of Syntao Academy and universities, CSR advisor of UNAIDS, UNDP and ILO in China in the past years.
