China Customs has recently updated its processing trade policy in line with the overall policy to mitigate the negative impact on exporters caused by the global economic crisis. Revenue pressure faced by Customs in 2009 may also lead to frequent initiatives for more aggressive customs audit on processing trade companies.
As we enter a very challenging time in 2009, it is important for companies engaged in processing trade to be prepared for the opportunities brought forward by the latest developments and their impacts on businesses, as well as familiarising themselves with customs compliance requirements.
