Dear IPR WG members:
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next IPR Working Group Meeting which will be held on 17th March at 14:00 at the European Chamber Office in Shanghai.
At this meeting we will first hold a Joint WG discussion on 2009 Position Paper between Beijing and Shanghai members, and then each Chapter will hold 2009 IPR Working Group Chair Elections.
As you may know, the IPR Working Co-Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group which includes the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Co-Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity represent the IPR Working at very senior levels.
( Chair responsibilities 2009 and Chair Election Best Practice)
Anyone who is possibly interested in running for the position of Co-Chair or Vice Chair is therefore kindly requested to inform the Chamber, please send to Ms. Penny Zhao at yzhao@euccc.com.cn, before 10th March.
In addition, we will also debrief you on the preparations for the Position Paper for 2009. As the Position Paper forms the basis of all our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to consult widely within their own company so that they can table possible new recommendations for the 2009 Paper. Attached for your reference is the Position Paper 2008/09.
