Dear HR Forum Member,
We are delighted to invite you to the next HR Forum meeting which will take place on Thursday, March 12th at 9 am at the European Chamber Office in Shanghai.
At this meeting we will hold the 2009 HR Forum Elections. As you may know, the HR Forum Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Forum which includes the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Forum meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Forum is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity represent the HR Forum at very senior levels. A letter from the HR forum Chair, explaining more about the role, is attached to this email. Also attached is a PDF on the role of Chair.
Anyone who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is therefore kindly requested to inform the Chamber, tbrooks@euccc.com.cn, by 9th March.
This meeting will also include a presentation on “Managing an HR division in a large industrial company” by Willie Ye, Human Resources & Communication Director, Arkema (China) Investment Co., Ltd.

2. Election of Chair and Vice Chairs of HR Forum for 2009-2010.
3. Unannounced office inspections by the PSB, of foreigners working for European Chamber member companies.
4. National HR Survey of European Chamber members.
5. Events for the Spring – to include a networking event, plus possible on-site visits to member company HR divisions.
6. Forthcoming visit to Shanghai ACFTU Chairman Liu Weixin, by HR Forum Chair plus Forum members.
7. 2009 Position Paper.
8. AOB and dates for next meetings.
