At this meeting we will hold the 2009 Logistics WG Elections. As you may know, the WG Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the WG which includes identifying the key concerns of business sectors, drafting the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, developing and promoting the WG activities in coordination with the BM. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the WG is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity represent the Logistics WG at very senior levels. Also attached is a PDF on the role of Chair and Vice Chairs.
The Chamber Secretariat would like to thank Mr.Gino MARZOLA (Kuehne & Nagel), Logistics Beijing Chair, and Mr.Andreas KIRCHENER (Stolts), Shanghai Chair, for their commitments in the past three years to help develop this WG a vibrant platform for lobbying and information exchange.
We're further pleased to announce that Mr. Tony CHEN (DHL), current Beijing Vice Chair, and Mr. Carlo LEOPALD (Capital Logistics), current Shanghai Co-Chair, have graciously expressed their willingness to continue in the role. However, they along with the Chamber Secretariat encourage any other member who may be interested to also put forth his/her candidature for this year's position. Any member who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair, either in Beijing or Shanghai, is therefore kindly requested to inform the Chamber by contacting Ms. Adele Wang at abwang@euccc.com.cn by Monday, 23rd March COP.
