Dear Members,
In June this year, China passed its Data Security Law, which came into effect on 1st September 2021. In August, China passed its Personal Informational Protection Law, which will come into effect on 1st November 2021.
What impacts have they caused to multinational companies’ compliance professionals’ work? What are the challenges, issues, and dilemmas compliance officers now face, and how have they tried to manage these issues and challenges? How will compliance officers navigate China’s new data regulatory landscape?
The European Chamber Compliance and Business Ethics Working Group cordially invites you to the member-only Working Group meeting: Data compliance in China: Current challenges, issues, and dilemma for compliance officers, and best practices sharing and learning, which is taking place on 28th September, 10.30-12.30 at the European Chamber Shanghai Office. In this meeting, we will have speakers from Fangda Partners and Siemens to share what issues compliance professionals are facing under new policy moves, as well as their experiences/best practices on how to do data compliance in China.
We encourage members to attend the Working Group Meeting in person and use this opportunity to exchange with your peers. Online zoom registration will also be open to those who cannot make it in person.
