The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to join a site visit to Panasonic’s Matsushita Memorial Hall and Seminar on the Role of Government Affairs in Crisis Management of the European and Japanese Enterprises in China (参观松下纪念馆暨日欧企业在华政府事务危机管理研讨会) (Chinese only) which is to take place on Friday 17^th December 2021, 14:00-16:20. During the site visit, the Chamber is honored to have Ms. Jane Zhang from Daohe Consulting for an in-depth analysis of the role of government affairs in crisis management.

We are also having the pleasure to have the senior officials of Panasonic China to give an introduction of Panasonic in China, lead members to visit the Matsushita Memorial Hall and see the growth process of Panasonic in China from the history point of view. This event will provide members of the European Chamber with the chance to learn the role of government affairs in China, exchange experiences with Japanese enterprises, explore opportunities, detect challenges, discuss the crisis management the foreign enterprises must face and jointly promote a new chapter of doing business in China.

Speaker’s Introduction:

Ms. Jane Zhang is the founder of DaoHe Consulting, a leading public affairs and policy advisory firm based in Beijing. In the past 30 years, Jane focuses on policy advocacy and communication between Chinese political system and Western organizations. Leveraging her deep experience in Chinese government, multinational companies and non-profits, Jane helps companies and organizations understand China’s political and business context and get across their perspectives to Chinese stakeholders. Her expertise in cross-political system, cross-culture and cross-sector communication helps clients obtain insights and foresights into China’s evolving political environment, identify opportunities and manage risks.

Jane Zhang is President of DaoHe Consulting, a business strategy and communications consulting firm specializing in government affairs and policy, communications strategies, issues and crisis management. Drawing on her extensive experience in international and public affairs as well as multinational corporation management, Jane provides strategic insight and counsel to world-leading multinational corporations across industries.
Prior to founding DaoHe Consulting, Jane served as Managing Director at APCO Worldwide, heading up the global public affairs consulting firm’s Beijing operation, and as head of Government Affairs and Communications at Burson-Marsteller China. In these roles, she provided counsel to top executives of world-leading multinational corporations on China’s operational environment and business strategies, corporate reputation, issues and crisis management. Previously, she held a leading position at Pfizer China in public affairs and policy, business strategy and operational management, and served with Johnson & Johnson’s government affairs and policy division in the United States. Jane also founded and led Tiger International, a New York-based strategy consulting firm focusing on China market entry and business development strategies for U.S. companies and organizations.
Earlier in her career, Jane provided international affairs expertise to top Chinese leaders and central government agencies, as well as worked with senior U.S. and European government officials on major international issues. She played an important organizational role in the ceremony marking Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997, and in the three years that followed served as press official for China’s Foreign Ministry Commissioner’s Office in Hong Kong.
Jane holds a Masters in Public Administration from Princeton University and degrees from Peking University and Xiamen University.
