EUCCC CDM Forum Elections and Position Paper Meeting
13.30-15.30, Thursday 9th April 2009 EUCCC Beijing Office
Dear Forum Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next CDM Forum Meeting which will be held on Thursday 9th April 1.30pm-3.30pm at the European Chamber Office in Beijing.
At this meeting we will hold the 2009 CDM Forum Elections and discuss this year’s Position Paper Key Recommendations. As you may know, the CDM Forum Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Forum, which includes the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Forum meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Forum is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity to represent the CDM Forum at very senior levels.
The current Chair Andrew Aldridge/Climate Change Capital as well as our Vice Chairs Douglas Smith/Camco and Tom Luckock/Norton Rose have expressed their interest in running as Vice Chair only for 2010. However, they along with the Chamber are strongly encouraging other members to run for the position of Chair and Vice Chair. If you are interested, please contact Melody Ji at mji@euccc.com.cn by 8th April.
As you are aware of, the deadline for the first draft of the 2009 CDM Position Paper is the end of April. Please consult within your own company, both in China and Europe, and bring possible key recommendations to this meeting for discussion. A copy of last year’s Paper is attached for your reference.
