We are delighted to invite you to the next Insurance WG meeting which will take place on Tuesday, April 21st from 14:00 to 15:30 at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Shanghai Office, Unit 2204, Shui On Plaza, 333 Huai Hai Zhong Road, Shanghai 200021

Agenda:
1. Position Paper
The deadline for completion of the first draft of this year’s Position Paper is 30th April. Therefore we would like to get the input of WG members during this meeting as to what they would like to see in the Insurance section this year.
You can view last year’s Insurance section here. Please also see the attached document which lists last year’s Key Recommendations and may help you structure any input you may have.
2. Elections for Chair and Vice-Chair
During this meeting we will conduct our annual elections for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the WG. The WG Chairs play a crucial role in driving the WG which includes identifying the key concerns of business sectors, drafting the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, developing and promoting the WG activities in coordination with the BM. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the WG is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity represent the European Chamber and Insurance WG at senior levels.
We are delighted to announce that Mr. Richard Schofield has kindly offered to stand for the position of Chair.

SH Financial Centre Conference
In June this year, the EUCCC will be hosting a conference in partnership with the Financial Services Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government which will examine Shanghai’s status as a financial centre and how the financial environment in Shanghai can be improved. We will give you more details of the agenda, and how you may be able to take part, in this meeting.
CIRC Internship scheme for EUCCC member firms
Last week a notice was sent out giving further details of a scheme whereby EUCCC member firms can take on a CIRC representative to undertake an internship for up to 2 months in a European office. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Tony Robinson at trobinson@euccc.com.cn as soon as possible.

May we also remind you that member companies should complete their responses to the EUCCC’s Business Confidence Survey by Wednesday, 15th April. We would request that you ensure that your company provides a completed survey to us by the deadline so that we can make the results as comprehensive and insightful as possible.
