The Chair and Vice Chair(s) play a key role in steering the Working Groups that are the drivers of the lobbying process -- the core of the European Chamber’s activities. In coordination with the Business Manager (BM), they communicate targeted messages on behalf of the industry to senior policy makers in China and Europe and promote the WG’s activities. Using the Position Paper as a basis, they also serve as spokesperson to raise the WG visibility when appropriate.
The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior Industry Representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the WG. Previous participation in the WG is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity represent the Food & Beverage Working Group at very senior levels.
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) serves as the voice of European business in China providing a channel of communication with high-level Chinese and European political and economic circles, as well as a unified lobbying voice on trade-related issues. Attached for your reference are the Guidelines for Working Groups where you will find more details about the Elections and Responsibilities of the Chair and Vice Chair(s).
Thanks for your continuous support and engagement with the F&B Working Group and the EUCCC.
