Dear Working Group Member,
The next Energy Working Group meeting will take place on May 7th from 2 – 4pm at the European Chamber. At this meeting we decided on the key leads for the proposed recommendations for the various sections of the Energy Position Paper.As our deadline for the 1st draft is April 30th, we kindly ask that the leads, as listed below, send their proposed draft to the Chamber by April 29th. We remind you that for RECOMMENDATIONS, there should be a CONCERN, ASSESSMENT, and RECOMMENDATION. KR LEADS · Xavier Chen: Gas Supply Security: · Alberto Mendez: Renewables related recommendation · Jesus Zaldua (TBC) : it was commonly agreed that a recommendation or a statement on Technology Transfer was needed · Vanessa Naicker: Carbon Capture Sequestration and CDM · Eric Neisse: Nuclear industry concern · Daniel Assandri (TBC): there was a wide consensus among the group about the need to a ddress Public Procurement in the Energy sector. · Chamber: The Chamber will coordinate the drafts with all the leads and compile into a single document. It will also review all of the major energy related developments since last edition that can be added to the Recent Developments Section · All other members are still encouraged to identify other issues and volunteer to contribute to the drafting and reviewing process. Should any other members wish to propose and draft a new recommendation for 2009 or submit a CASE STUDY example to be highlighted in a separate box, please ensure that you inform the Chamber as soon as possible. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 7th at the European Chamber from 2-4pm.
