We are pleased to invite you to the next meeting of the Private Equity and Strategic M&A Working Group which will take place on Thursday 14th May, starting at 2.30pm in our Shanghai offices (members in Beijing can join via video-conference).

Agenda:
1) Presentation from Bain & Company on the status of the Survey on the Economic & Social Impact of Private Equity in China which they are undertaking in cooperation with the EUCCC and our Working Group.
2) Position Paper – we will provide an update on the status of the drafting of the Working Group’s paper and will welcome further comments and contributions
3) Update on Upcoming events – There are a number of upcoming events which WG members may be interested in attending or participating in. Please see the links below.
4) Vice-Chair Elections: During this meeting we will conduct elections for the positions of Vice-Chair of the WG in Shanghai. We are delighted to announce that we have two candidates who have kindly offered to stand for the two vacant positions of Shanghai Vice-Chair. Please see the bottom of this email for further information relating to Chair elections. Candidates (2 Vice-Chair Positions):

· Ms. Joanne Wood, Chairman, Capital Eight

Further information relating to Working Group Chair Elections
The WG Chairs play a crucial role in driving the WG which includes identifying the key concerns of business sectors, drafting the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, developing and promoting the WG activities in coordination with the BM. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the WG is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity represent the European Chamber and Banking WG at senior levels.
