How to stimulate managers and staff members
to add values to their company?
After the summer break, it's time for us, HR working group members, to meet again! Thanks to your suggestions of topics, we have chosen one of them. It will be discussed during the first part of the WG. We also need to brainstorm on our future plans of the WG and this will be discussed in the second part of the meeting.
"How to stimulate managers and staff members to add values to their company" remains a hot topic in all companies. We would like to invite you to join our discussion about this topic. We will provide you with a platform to share your own opinion with other HR managers, which is sure to be mutually beneficial.
In order to organize our discussion well, we would like to collect your answers to the above question: "How do you stimulate your employees managers & staff members - to add values in your company?".
Please reply by e-mail (sbwu@euccc.com.cn) before 6:00 pm Sept. 20th, so that we can prepare a handout for every participant at the meeting. Your valuable experience or future plans on this topic are especially welcome. Thank you!
After a short refreshing break, the discussion on the future plans of the HR working group, including topic definition, activity organization will be held in Part II.

Part 1: Future plans of the HR working group
1) The whole mission of each HR manager is axed on the five HR activity areas corresponding to the working cycle of an employee:
-Win and employ employees
-Develop and train employees
-Service and consult employees
-Compensate and benefit employees
-Retire and terminate employees
See the PowerPoint presentation here attached, presented by Hans-Christian MARXEN, Chairman of the HR WG. This table becomes the reference of the HR WG to visualize the activity area that we will discuss in the future.
B. Future plans of HR WG activities:
-Additional Vice Chairman. → Already 1 candidate. Please let us know if you are interested to become a vice-Chairman.
- Code of Conduct → everybody agreed on the principle. A subgroup should prepare a proposal. Please let us know if you are interested to work on this topic.
- Standardized information exchange. Will be prepared by EUCCC
- Create a standardized part for employee surveys for all members (e.g. employee satisfaction survey)
- Social activities→ create a team spirit among HR Managers members. A subgroup should work on this topic. Please let us know if you are interested.
2) Joint training program for the middle management
The European Chamber is in contact with a consulting company who proposes the following program:
- Leading for results: the fundamentals of leading that gives a systematic view of an enterprise and of the role of manager in contributing to results
- Personal productivity: building self-discipline for better performance and life balance
- Managers into team leaders: setting pace and direction in the workplace that gives techniques to empower and supervise teamwork
- Coaching for performance: Understand performance through people and communication techniques for motivational working climate and people retention.
- Transition to excellence: having a lasting impact on organization performance (more senior executives)
Participants suggest adding:Atlas Copco added: “training on how to face changes in a company”
