The European Chamber is delighted to inform you that Vice-President of the European Commission, Guenter Verheugen, Commissioner for Industry and Enterprise, will be visiting Guangzhou on June 8th.
One of the key objectives of DG Enterprise and Industry is to ensure that the Commission's policies make European enterprises more competitive. Commissioner Verheugen is thus interested in meeting with companies to receive a first-hand update on the economic situation in South China and operating environment of European Companies, i.e. impact of the financial crisis, investment perspectives etc. He is especially interested in meeting companies in industry sectors relating to sustainability, such as environment, energy and green technology, to gain a better understanding of how EU companies can contribute to the “green” development plan of Guangdong Province.
This is your chance to voice your concerns and recommendations at the highest level.
Commissioner Guenter Verheugen has been with the European Commission for 10 years. From 1999 - 2004, as Commissioner for Enlargement, he managed the smooth integration of ten new EU member states in 2004 and is now Commissioner for Industry and Enterprise.
