1. Trend of Sustainable Development in China
China's government is directing huge amounts of capital and other resources towards becoming a more sustainable economy, at the same time becoming a world-leader in a number of cleantech industries. Mr. Jason Inch, co-author of Supertrends of Future China, will speak about the central government's latest environmental policy trends, as well as market developments in clean energy and sustainable business, including solar and wind power, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and natural resource usage.

2. Tax Incentives for foreign investment in Environmental Industry
The new Corporate Income Tax Law effective 1 January 2008 brought significant changes in the tax incentive landscape in China. With environment protection being one of the key topics of the Chinese government for the coming years, the environmental industry, environmentally friendly products and equipment as well as environmentally sound technologies do experience a range of new tax incentives under the new tax law. Mr. Alexander Prautzsch, Manager, Tax and Business Advisory Service, Ernst & Young, will provide an overview over such incentives, necessary preconditions to meet and first experiences regarding the application of such incentives.

In 2007, the SEPA, now MEP has been promoting Equator Principle (EqP) and launched a set of Green policy consisting of Green Credit, Green Insurance and Green Securities policies in collaboration with the financial sector. Two years has passed, those policies have been developed gradually, but not without Challenges. Dr. Wang Yong, Partner and Manager Director, ERM China will provide an over view on the policy development and the implications to business development in China. ERM, as IFC qualified trainer on EqP, is working increasingly with Chinese banks on Equator Principle based banking, IFC training for Chinese banks. Also it provides advice to MEP on green policies for overseas investment by Chinese companies while assisting Chinese banks in implementing environmental and social assurance programs.
