Next Meeting, European Chamber
Wednesday, June 24th, 2-4pm
Dear Energy Working Group Member,
The next Energy Working Group meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 24th, from 2 – 4pm at the European Chamber. We have the pleasure of having two distinguished guests from the EU Commission in Brussels joining us: Mrs. Paula Abreu Marques, head of Unit for International Relations at the Directorate-General for Energy and Transport (DG TREN) and Ms. Alexandra Sombsthay, her officer in charge of China. They are both in China to discuss energy policy issues with their government counterparts NDRC, NEA, MoHURD and SCLAO. They have offered to debrief us on their meetings and also receive input from our group. For your information, we will also send them a copy of our draft Energy Paper ahead of their meetings so that our issues can be indirectly presented through them. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Commission, it’s own energy policies, and its discussions with and feedback from the Chinese Government. Agenda <!--[if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Update on Sub-WG Renewable Energy Committee meetings and media response on wind issues (15 min) <!--[if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Confirmation and finalization of Energy Position Paper (15 min) <!--[if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->Presentation and introduction on DG TREN role, general activities, and specific work in China (15 min followed by Q&A 30 min) <!--[if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->Reminder/Update on Energy Centre (10 min) Shall you wish to attend or have any other agenda items you wish to put forward, please inform Eric Zhang at ezhang@euccc.com.cn For more information on the Energy Working Group or the European Chamber in general, please do not hesitate to contact Adam Dunnett, adunnett@euccc.com.cn
