The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to the second event in our Copenhagen Debate Environmental Seminar series, a 6-month program of discussions about the most urgent environmental issues facing China and the world in the run-up to December’s Copenhagen Climate Summit.
The July seminar will focus on the Wind Energy sector, a field where European companies rank among the world’s leaders but China is fast becoming one of the biggest producers.
China has doubled its wind power capacity has doubled every year since 2005, so as the dynamics of the global wind power market shift towards the Middle Kingdom, we ask:
Where is China’s wind power market headed and who are the key players entering and exiting this market? To what degree is wind power a cost-effective replacement for fossil fuels and can China lead the world in this greenest of green technologies in light of its current policies? And can international businesses thrive in a market that has become increasingly difficult for outsiders to enter?
Our panel for this debate is composed of experts in the field, who have all been actively involved in China’s wind power market since its inception:
Paul Eveleigh, Chief Executive, Honiton Energy ( bio)
