Please be informed that the
Annual Dialogue between the Ministry of Communications and the EUCCC?? Transport & Logistics Working Groups has been confirmed for
Tuesday 12th April 2005 at 2pm at the EU Delegation.
The Dialogue with the Ministry will take place from 3pm and will allow participants to discuss their key concerns with the Department of Water Transport. This meeting will enable the Working Group to develop future areas of cooperation, with the aim of deepening relations with this key ministry. We anticipate senior level participation from the Ministry of Communications.
Prior to meeting the government, the Working Group will discuss an up-coming joint Chamber- EU-China Trade Project proposal for a study tour to Europe looking at the design and architecture of European customs computer systems and current EU customs regulations for Chinese customs officials. This discussion will be followed by the annual election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for the Transport Working Group (see below for more details).
The agenda for the meeting will be:
1. Presentation and discussion on the proposed study tour
2. Election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for the Transport Working Group
3. Discussion of the key themes for the up-coming 2005 Position Paper (time permitting)
4. Dialogue with the Ministry of Communications
The Chairperson and Vice Chairperson will play key roles in driving the development of the Working Group in 2005. With support from Rhian Kelly as Business Manager, taking up this key position will enable you to help promote the Working Group?? activities and communicate targeted messages on behalf of industry to senior policy makers in China and Europe. You would also serve as spokesperson in efforts to raise the Group?? visibility in the media.
