The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the joint meeting with Environment and CSR Working Group on Thursday, 6th August, starting from 8.30am.
The EU-China Trade Project (EUCTP) commissioned the report on Sustainable Aquaculture in South China in order to produce a qualitative evaluation of the current environmental sustainability of aquaculture for two major farmed species in Hainan and Guangdong provinces. The project focused on the farming of two aquaculture products: a) Marine prawn, Litopenaeus vannamei, commonly known as White leg shrimp, and b) Freshwater finfish, Tilapia species.
The report was led by Mr. Stephen Scoones and carried out in cooperation with China’s National Fishery Technical Extension Centre (NFTEC). It covers areas such as history and current status of production in China including disease management, the regulatory framework in China and the European Union, environmental sustainability and international practices in aquaculture.
