European SMEs in China have recently raised concerns about the sample-taking procedures from local points of sale by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and/or local Administration for Market Regulation (AMR). For the purpose of ensuring food safety, testing for pesticides, and checking for the presence of mycotoxins, China’s SAMR and AMR conduct regular sample-checking and random checks on products that have already entered the Chinese market. What happens after products are selected for sample-checking or random checks? What does the checking procedure entail? How long is the wait for results? How can such checks affect one’s business in China? How much should businesses worry about it?
In response to these concerns raised by SMEs in China, the EU SME Centre and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China are inviting two experts from the international law firm Keller and Heckman to help European businesses to better understand the testing procedure and to establish an internal compliance system that is in line with China’s policy environment. During this event, Jenny Xin Li, Senior Regulatory Counselor, and Suyan (Sharon) Tian, Legal Consultant, will present compliance strategies and offer guidance for SMEs to better adapt to China’s food safety inspection processes.
This free webinar in English is open to all SMEs from European Union Member States and countries participating in the Single Market Programme.
