Dear Working Group Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Energy Working Group Meeting which will be held on Thursday 10th September 2- 4pm at the European Chamber Office in Beijing. (this venue may change if the number of registrations exceeds the capacity of the Chamber meeting room)
At this meeting, we will discuss the forthcoming EU-China Energy Centre 2 Project with the Secretary General of the Chinese Renewable Energy Industry Association and Deputy Director General of National Energy Administration Li Junfeng, have the election for Vice Chair for Renewables, and brief you on other Chamber developments.
Information on Vice Chair Election
As you may know the former Vice chair of our Working Group, Mr. Alberto Mendez, has returned to Europe for family and professional reasons. Mr. Alberto Mendez was an extremely active member of the group and played an important role in directing the Energy and Chamber's position on renewable energy, and supporting the Chamber in so many other ways as well.
Given this important role, we would like to find a successor from our existing Energy Working Group members. We welcome expressions of interest from individuals and nominations for individuals that you think may make a good Chair.
The Energy Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the working group, which includes the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the working group meetings.
The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the working group is also highly valued. These honorary positions represent a tremendous opportunity to represent the Energy working group at very senior levels.
