The Shanghai Chapter Board Election, where the Chair of the Shanghai Chapter Board (1 position), Vice Chair (2 positions) and Board Member (4 positions) are elected for a two-year term (2023-2025), will take place on Thursday 18th May 2023 at 3:30 pm at European Chamber Shanghai office.
As such, we invite members to join the “Meet the Candidates” event on Tuesday, 16th May from 12:00-13:00 (Beijing time), where speeches by all the candidates running for election will be heard. A question-and-answer moderated session will then take place with the opportunity for members to ask questions.
This will be the opportunity for members to meet their candidates running for election and hear about their experience and plans to contribute to the European Chamber.
The “Meet the Candidates” event is open to members of the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter, but only members with voting rights (the designated representative from the local entity registered with the Chamber) will be entitled to vote.

How can I vote?
The Articles of Association approved during the AGM in 2016 have made the AGM and local board elections more convenient and practical for our members by introducing the e-voting form. You are welcome to cast your vote either in person, by e-voting, or designating a proxy to vote on your behalf. Please see below for more information:
1) In person by secret ballot at the election venue on Thursday, 18th May 2023. Please note that even if you have voting rights confirmed by the Secretariat of the Chamber, you must have registered for the Shanghai Chapter Board Election by Wednesday, 17th May 2023, 5 pm in order to exercise this vote.
2) Electronic voting: Open from Monday, 8th May 2023, 10 am to Wednesday, 17th May 2023, 10 am by accessing a designated link using your European Chamber user account e-mail. Please note that the voting information will be sent to the designated representative of your company once the candidates have been confirmed.
3) Assign a proxy to vote on your behalf by Monday, 15th May 2023, 5 pm. Please fill in the proxy form and send a scanned copy to Ms Mengting Dai at mtdai@europeanchamber.com.cn, or in person at the Chamber office in Shanghai (Unit 2204, Shui On Plaza, 333 Huai Hai Zhong Road, Shanghai).
The proxy must be a colleague from your legal entity. This requirement has only one exception for the Individual member, who may assign his/her proxy to another individual member/corporate member with voting rights in Shanghai. However, an individual person can only hold a maximum of 5 proxies.
Proxies received after the deadline or in a format different from those listed above will not be accepted.
