The European Chamber is happy to invite you to the kick-off meeting of the Quality and Safety Services Sub-Working Group (QSS Sub-WG) which will take place onsite from Beijing and online on 27th March 09:30-10:30. If you want to join this meeting, please register here before 24th March COB.
The main topics for this meeting will be the revision of the activities of the WG in 2023, as well as the establishment of the WG priorities for 2024 and the discussion on the upcoming QSS Sub-WG Position Paper. Thus, members are strongly encouraged to join the discussion and provide input on the key issues which will likely shape the activities of the WG this year. During this meeting we will hold our 2024-2025 chair elections. Working Group members interested in running for this year’s Chair elections, should take notice of the following:
Call for Candidates to Chair and Vice Chairperson – Roles and Responsibilities
The Chairperson and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Sub-Working Group, including a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a senior industry representative with relevant expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the Sub-Working Group. Previous participation in the Sub-Working Group is essential. Before applying for the position of Chair or Vice Chair, we recommend that you obtain approval from your company. The maximum duration of Chairperson or Vice Chairperson of a Group is three consecutive years. Candidates are only eligible for Chair or Vice Chair positions if he/she is physically based in China. In case of more than one candidacy being presented for the same chairperson position, only QSS Sub-WG corporate members who had their confirmed registration for this meeting will have the right to vote online, with one vote per company.
The QSS Sub-WG is going to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair.
The Chairs and Vice Chairs should represent different sectors and issues; therefore we encourage employees across industries as well as candidates both of Regulatory Affairs and Government Affairs background to apply for elections. - Motivation letter on why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair, including:

- specification of the role you are applying for
- how your background and experience match the role
- the goals you have for the WG over the following 12 months
- how you intend to utilise or share professional resources for the benefit of the WG
In accordance with European Chamber internal guidelines, another email will be sent to the Working Group prior to the election, with the biographies and motivation letters of all candidates attached. The duration of the term for both Chairs and Vice Chairs is one year. All elected Chairpersons must sign the Code of Conduct following the election.
