The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, the American Chamber of Commerce and the British Chamber of Commerce are delighted to invite you to our Human Resources Forum Seminar on Thursday, 3rd December, at 4.00 PM at the Kerry Center Hotel in Beijing.
With the demand for quality employees and scarcity of available talent intensifying in the current climate, many employers are endeavoring to increase levels of employee engagement and promote themselves as Employers of Choice. But what does it mean to be an employer of choice? What can we learn from those who have rightfully earned this title? What can we do to make employees tick?
To find the answers, join us for the discussion with our panel where our guest speakers will help you better understand the concept of employee engagement and present you the practices on how to become an employer of choice, and tips to attract and retain young talented employees.
The Speakers
Sara Gao, Country Manager, Universum
Sara is the Country Manager of the Universum China, the global employer branding leader. Sara helps Fortune 500 companies to redefine their Employer Brand Propositions (EVP), to leverage strengths as an employer and to attract the best fit talent. She will speak about Generation Y – how the financial crisis influenced the career preference, who the ideal employers are, what are the career goals in different regions and how to communication with Generation Y in China.
Rainer Schmitz, Owner and Founder, Chan HR Consulting (former HR and Business Partner, Kraft Foods)
Rainer is the owner and founder of Chan HR Consulting firm who focus on Executive Coaching, Facilitation of Business / Strategy and Brainstorming workshops. Rainer as a Human Resources Expert for over 22 years, with over 10 years of multicultural experience and is the former Human Resources and business partner to Senior Executive teams and their organizations for the 2nd largest Food Company globally. He will speak about the 3 (un)known secrets of becoming an Employer of Choice in China.
Jim Leininger, National Leader, Watson Wyatt
Jim Leininger is the national leader for Watson Wyatt’s Organization Measurement and Talent Management solutions in China. Previously, he served for 4 years as the General Manager of Watson Wyatt in Beijing. He has been responsible for leading many of Watson Wyatt’s research projects in the area of HR function effectiveness, employee engagement, and HR Best Practices. He is the primary author of Watson Wyatt’s research reports in China, such as the Human Capital Index®, WorkChina, and WorkAsia™. He will speak about the employee engagement - the importance of engagement even in a downturn, reasons cited why employees stay and leave their company, what are the key drivers of engagement in China and what are the best practices from the "Best Companies" in China in fostering engagement.

About Human Resources Forum at the European Chamber
The European Chamber’s Human Resources Forum aims to provide a platform to exchange information, experiences and best practice among member companies, as well as promote awareness of HR and labour-related issues across industry. It is an event-driven platform that regularly delivers seminars and training sessions of interest to HR professionals.
