The Standardization Administration of China (SAC) has begun the process of creating an Asbestos Testing Method for Cosmetics Products. As part of the drafting process, SFDA has asked the EU Chamber of Commerce and AmCham-China to host a full day conference to discuss, review and consider the proposed testing methods and to provide a platform for the interested parties to comment and make suggestions to the SAC proposals.
SFDA officials, experts from the asbestos testing center, foreign experts from PCPC and Colipa (TBC) and member companies from AmCham-China and the EUCCC are invited to sit down together to:
1. Review the draft test method;
2. Discuss the testing methods utilized in the US and Europe and to compare these processes to the SAC proposal, and
3. To exchange views on testing methods.
A detailed conference agenda, attendee list and the draft standard of Asbestos Testing to be used at the conference will be sent to those who register.
This conference will be held in Chinese and English. Simultaneous translation will be provided.

There will be a pre-paid fee for attending this event, to cover the expense of simultaneous translation, meeting handout, tea breaks. Price will be between RMB 300-500 per person, which will be confirmed later.
Non-members are welcome to joining the event at a higher price, please feel free to forward to your industrial peers.
