Did you know:
• New legislation on annual leave sets out certain minimum entitlements?
• Unmarried female employees are entitled to maternity leave?
• Statutory medical treatment periods may be extended in “serious cases”?
• Senior managers may be exempted from over time requirements?
• Time-off-in lieu may not be awarded for working on public holidays?
• The burden is on employers to refute over time claims?
• Unauthorized absences may give grounds for dismissal?
Understanding and implementing employee overtime (OT) and leave entitlements can present employers with considerable HR challenges. A raft of national and local, and fast-evolving, legislation only increases such challenges. When formulating OT and leave policies, it is now more important than ever for HR managers to have a clear understanding of the key legal and HR issues.
Against this background, we are fortunate to be able to welcome Jeremy Sargent, Managing Partner of JSA, to share his insights into this highly topical and sensitive area of law and practice.
Drawing upon a wealth of real-life case studies, and based upon recent legislative developments, Jeremy will provide clear and practical guidance to employers when formulating and implementing their OT and leave policies.
The presentation will include:
• Annual leave entitlements – the new rules
• Maternity and paternity leave – what are the entitlements
• Sickness, injury and medical treatment leave
• Unused annual leave – how should this be “cashed out”?
• Current OT rules and policies
• Flexible and comprehensive working hours – the changes
• Piece workers – how is OT calculated?
• OT records – the risks
For any company operating in China today, this presentation should not be missed!
