Dear Aviation Working Group Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Aviation Working Group Meeting which will be held on Thursday 25th February from 10am - 12am in North Wing of the Delegation of the European Union to China.
Tentative Agenda

2. Update on courtesy meeting between the Delegation of the EU and CAAC and on the bilateral(trilateral) Traffic Right Negotiation by Stephan Baertges, Trade Section Delegation the European Union
3. Discussion on Agenda for Aviation Working Group

As you may know, the Aviation Working Chair and Vice Chair play a crucial role in driving the Working Group which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued (a general job description is attached).
Currently, Mrs. Martina Groenegres (Lufthansa) is a candidate for Chair and Mr. Simon Akeroyd (Amadeus) is a candidate for Vice Chair.
Anyone else who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is also welcome and kindly requested to inform the Chamber, xsanspowell@euccc.com.cn, by noon 5h February.
In addition, we will also begin our discussions on the Position Paper for 2009. As the Position Paper forms the basis of our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to consult widely within their own company in advance so that they can then table such recommendations for discussion at this meeting. For your reference, please find attached the 2008 IT&T WG Position Paper.
