Dear Construction Working Group Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Working Group Meeting which will be held on March 5th from 9am - 10.30 am in the EUCCC Shanghai Office.
At this meeting we will hold the 2010 Construction Working Group Elections, discuss the planned member survey regarding Construction trends/ New developments in China and possible recommendations for the 2010/11 Position Paper. As the Position Paper forms the basis of our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to read last year's Position Paper before the meeting and consult widely within their own company in advance so that they can then table such recommendations for discussion at this meeting (construction_en).
Tentative Agenda
1. Chair/ Vice Chair Election
2. Discussion of member survey
3. Discussion on upcoming Position Paper 2010/11 and time line
4. AOB
As you may know, the Chair and Vice Chair play a crucial role in driving the Working Group which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued (a general job description is attached chair_responsibilities_2009 ).
Currently, Mr. Michael Adams (Somerley Investment Consulting) is a candidate for Chair and Mr Johannes Weilharter (Schulz Noack Baerwinkel) is a candidate for Vice Chair.
Anyone else who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is also welcome and kindly requested to inform the Chamber, sykim@euccc.com.cn, by COB March 2, 2010 .
Please register your attendance at the next WG meeting by emailing Mr. Junda Lin at jlin@euccc.com.cn until COB March 2, 2010.
