Dear Working Group Member,
We are delighted to invite you to the Private Equity and Strategic M&A Working Group meeting to be held on March 12th 2010, starting at 3:00 pm at the European Chamber’s Office in Shanghai (please refer to the address above) and with the Beijing office joining via video conference.
At this meeting we will have the honour and pleasure to welcome Mr. Lu Sheng, head of CapStone Asia. Mr. Lu is developing the Asian and Chinese operations of Capstone Partners, a leading placement agent providing global fundraising and advisory services to private equity GPs and LPs. He will share his views with the Working Group on the recent developments of the Private Equity industry in China.
We will also focus our attention on the key recommendations for the new Position Paper of the Working Group. Please find enclosed the excel folder listing the 09/10 issues as well as last year position paper.
As you may know, the Private Equity and Strategic M&A Working Group Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued (a general job description is attached).
Currently, Mr. Andre Loesekrug-Pietri (CEL Partners) is a candidate for Chair and Ms. Joanne Wood (Capital Eight) and Mr. Serge Janssens (BNP Paribas Fortis) are candidates for Vice Chair in Shanghai and Beijing respectively.
