Speakers
Prof. Dr. Ninon Colneric, Co-Dean, China-EU School of Law
Former Judge at the European Court of Justice from 15 July 2000 to 6 October 2006.
Studied in Tübingen, Munich and Geneva; following a period of academic research in London, she was awarded a doctorate in law by the university of Munich; Judge at the Arbeitsgericht (Labour Court) Oldenburg; authorised, by the University of Bremen, to teach labour law, sociology of law and social law; Professor ad interim at the faculty of law of the universities of Frankfurt and Bremen; President of the Landesarbeitsgericht (Labour Appeal Court) Schleswig-Holstein (1989-2000); Honorary Professor at the University of Bremen in labour law, specifically in European labour law.
Prof. Dr. Stéphanie Balme, Professor, China-EU School of Law
French National, Stéphanie Balme has worked in Hong Kong and in mainland China since 2003. Senior Research Fellow at Sciences Po Paris, she is visiting Professor at the Tsinghua University School of Law in Beijing and also teacher and researcher at the China-EU School of Law. Stéphanie is Civil Law Initiative’s China Delegate. She has co-edited or written 6 books and more than 40 articles in different languages. Her main area of expertise covers China’s law, its judiciary and society.
