The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, the SwissCham Beijing and the Austcham Beijing are delighted to invite you to a breakfast discussion with Ms. Marcia Silverman, the Global Chair of one of the world’s largest public relations companies, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, and a 30-year veteran in brand building.
The international financial turmoil of the last two years has represented a challenge to the very survival of many brands, from small-scale retailers to giants of industry and manufacturing.
With the economic downturn, consumer buying patterns across the spectrum of industries have undergone a fundamental shift, as consumers have reevaluated their needs and reassessed their relationships with the brands they use.
This has left some brands reeling, as market share diminishes. But for companies that are aware of that shift and agile enough to develop new and meaningful ways to engage with their consumers, this represents a major opportunity to emerge from the downturn in a better position – with a stronger consumer base.
Highlighting the experience of one iconic company which has proved that, even in dour economic times, a brand can dramatically build its market share, Ms. Marcia Silverman will discuss:
How has consumer sentiment and consumers’ relationships to brands changed over the last two years – and what does this mean for your brand? In which industries has consumer sentiment fared better through the downturn, and why? What can – and what should – marketers do to protect and enhance market share during lean economic times? Where are the marketing risks for your company during a downturn? What issues and challenges should you be prepared for, and how can you respond?
Join us on May 21st at the Park Hyatt to discover the meaning of strategic brand management in challenging economic times.
